Since touching yourself in public is unacceptable.
…here’s me thinking out loud instead.
What’s a Karan?
Glad you asked!
With roots in Sanskrit and derived from Karn - the legendary warrior from the Mahabharata - my name is Karan, aka the guy who wrote this.
Karn was renowned for his unmatched generosity, fierce loyalty, bravery, and unwavering commitment to his values - until the bitter end.
I like to think I embody his traits…though I also think generosity starts at home.
After all, you can’t pour from an empty cup.
Whether it’s gin or mezcal, make sure your bottle’s full, and you’re three sheets to the wind before you serve others.
As for my values?
Honesty takes pole position. Playfulness is a close second.
Positivity takes bronze.
And whilst good things come in threes…curiosity rounds them up.
What’s a Playbook?
A team's strategic guide, especially in sports.
(He studied his playbook before every game.)A set of rules, suggestions, or strategies for a specific activity or field.
(She rewrote the political playbook.)
What is Karan’s Playbook?
One part cocktail-party confessional. One part life-strategy guide.
From a life lived playfully — think controlled chaos balanced with order.
I write about the self, psychology, addiction, improvement, endurance running, martial arts, dating, love, social media, festivals, culture, personal finance, music, video games…and anything else that interests me.
Expect personal stories, lessons, ideas, and life updates told with brutal honesty and irreverent humour.
I believe:
Lived experience > theory
Karan means doer: I do things, then share what I've learned, so you can integrate what worked for me into your life.
What’s the endgame?
Evolution began with genes.
Now it continues through ideas.
When I’m gone, I hope someone finds this playbook and uses it to live a better life.
Or at least crack a smile.
Who knows what they'll do?
I’ll be six feet under…
You know — if you think about the very nature of life — I mean, from the very beginning.
The development of the first cell…divided into two cells.
The sole purpose of life has been to pass on what was learned.
There was no higher purpose.
So if you're asking me what to do with all this knowledge you're accumulating…
I say:
Pass it on.
Just like any simple cell, going through time.
- Professor Samuel Norman from Lucy
Since we must die.
Memento amare/remember to love.
